Title: S/PDIF not working
Post by: archived on December 14, 2005, 12:26:59 pm
Hello,

I've got a hybrid up and running. It's based on a ASUS A7V600-X motherboard with onboard sound (VIA 8237). Analoge sound works great (at least stereo, which is the only thing I've tested), but I can't get any sound from the coax spdif. I've tried just about everything in plutoadmin, and also checked alsamixer to see that the digital is on, all to no avail.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Tor Helge

Are the chipset drivers installed?

If the system don't have the drivers for a device, it's impossible for
it to know it's capabillities, and how to use them.

I have no idea if the chipset drivers are installed or not. How do I check that?

Where to look:

alsamixer: IEC958 and similar
/etc/pluto/xine.conf

For each change you make in /etc/pluto/xine.conf you need to do a "Quick Reload Router" so the corresponding program (Xine_Player) reloads the settings.
