Title: HAUPPAUGE WIN TV PVR150 MCE
Post by: powerbits on April 26, 2008, 01:52:58 pm
Hi

I have a PVR150 from hauppauge wo works great under Linux mce and mythtv but its remote does not
The remote is one MCE edition of  hauppauge

I have tried this link

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-PVR-150_MCE

But i get errors at

 ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc/conf.d --with-x --with-driver=mceusb2
 make
 make install

Also when i use the microsoft mce reciever my remote works.. so it seems to be the IR reciever of hauppauge that does not work

Please help

Tx

Frank

The --with-driver option tells LIRC which receiver you are using, not which remote.

Has the new linux mce 7.10 now support for this remote?

I'm not shure wether there exists different versions og 150MCE, but the link you refere to does definetly not work for mine. Mine card seemes to be equipped with a i2c based receiver. This means that you should use the lirc_i2c module, not the lirc_mceusb2 module. I used the installed lirc version, and was able to get a response by removing the lirc_mceusb2 module and adding the lirc_i2c module. Then suddenly nothing worked, and I gave up and bought a windows mce remote instead,...

So my suggestion would be to try the lirc_i2c module
You should se something when you "cat /dev/lirc0", but you would need to stop lircd first
Use irw to verify decoding of your remote.
