Hello everyone, I am really glad I found this site. I have recently came back to Linux and have been playing around with streaming my media to my TV. I have been using a Netgear EVA8000 box on 1 TV. Works OK but not what I want for an end product. I started doing research on MCE. I am not fond of the way Widows MCE is. After watching some video's and reading the forums I have decided on LinuxMCE. I am moving into a new house with in 3 months and I have started the planning stage to set this up through out my whole house. Anyone have any suggestions or advice would be love to hear from you. I have set up Phase's so that I can fully use the LinuxMCE through out the house. I would really like to get some ideas of what Equipment I should buy. I do have about 6 PC's running in the house 3 of them being Ubuntu.
For the first Phase I need to get some equipment. I want to set up a Core, 2 kids rooms with Directors that can be used as normal computer for the kids, 1 director for our living room, 1 Director for the master bedroom that we can use as a PC. I am going to set up a Gig network. Could use some help with hardware for a new install from the ground up. I will have a server closet centrally located for all the gear to be in.
Thanks everyone in advance for all the help.

Looks like I am going to go with the MSI Media Live barebones for my Directors.

Not sure about the Core. Any help would be great.

I'm using an Asus M2NPV-VM for my core, and I'm very happy with it (Fiire's Fire Station uses it at well). The wiki has a lot of recomendations as well..
A lot depends on what you want (HDMI output? Component HD output? etc..)
As far as media directors, I have an old Dell, and old Gateway and an older off-brand computer all running just fine for the most part.
Do your research though and go with known-working setups to make things go smooth
