Title: videowiz files showing up in video media
Post by: JimmyGosling on February 27, 2008, 04:01:58 pm
Alright, I made the mistake of running the updatemedia script on the backend to try and resolve some picture issues that I had.  Well now I have a lot of videowiz files sitting in my video menu. How do I remove that directory from the browser?

To sort of bump the topic I've included the screen shot.  As you can see, the mpgs are not items I would like in this list.  Is there a way to tell the system to leave that directory out... like it was doing in the first place?

I reckon the best way to solve this is to temporary rename the directory in question and go to the web-admin under "Files & Media | Media Files Sync", tick "Show files who are missing from disk", navigate to that directory (on the right) and use the "delete from database" button.  Finaly rename the directory back to it's original name.

Alright, I don't seem (or was not able to find) a "delete from database button.  I'm on 0710b3 by the way.

Anyway, your suggestion did send me in the right direction though.  I moved the folder off to another directory and hit the "resynchronize" button for the folder, then moved them back in.  That seemed to do the trick.

thanks for your help

You're welcome, glad to hear you got it sorted.  There are probably quite a few ways to deal with that.

Offtopic: isn't it funny how our avatars look kind of similar?  ;)

I am but a shadowy reflection of yourself.

Shame you removed it, I hope that wasn't on my account.  The forum would look much nicer if more people had an avatar in my opinion...

It'll be back up.  I'm just changing some domains around and so it's a little lost in the shuffle.

I too enjoy avatars... even if I'm not a the inventor of java
