Title: Support for LIRC tranmitters
Post by: archived on November 09, 2005, 02:34:26 pm
As you are most likely aware, LIRC also supports some infrared transmitters. I was wondering if there are any plans to support these in the future, as these could offer a much cheaper option compared to some of the comercial units.

Cheers,

Title: It should be easy to add

If there is not current support could you suggest the best approach for adding something?  It seems to me that lirc listens on a socket.  It should be as easy as writing to the socket with the correct lirc configuration.

As I don't have a gc100 this would be a show stopper for me using pluto.  I need control of my dish receiver.

I would suggest at least adding support for the basic homebrew serial transmitter.
