Title: How to compile vdr in lmce beta3?
Post by: niz23 on January 22, 2008, 11:41:20 am
Hi all.

I´m trying to add some vdr modules that need to recompile vdr.
How can I do that?
Is it possible to do it without downloading and compiling the whole of LMCE?

if you just want to compile plugins you can do that in the usual way.

But if you want to recompile vdr itself you will have to wait for the real release, cause there are no diffs in the testing stage there.
We changed too much inside vdrsources for beta and testing and will prepare the svn / lmcevdr-changes AFTER the stable 0710 release.

Yep. I want to recompile the whole vdr.
The reason is because of a plugin that need to patch som a small amount of stream decoding stuff inside vdr 1.4.7 in order to work.
I won´t mention which plugin since I don´t know were this forum stands in this kind of question that is brought up with the type of functionality this plugin add.

Any change to get hold of the vdr source you are working with to see if the patch apply cleanly?
Or perhaps just add the small patch?

I´ll contact you with a private message.

Hmm, I wonder what that plugin might be. Must be the same that I am after, which causes silences on the VDR user list  :-X

  Hi all,

there is a way not to use a vdr plugin but just a module that pipe out the clear stream to vdr transparently.

there is no need to recompille vdr.

just send a private message for more info.

Rafik

Is it possible to install VDR plug-ins from ubuntu repository - http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=vdr-plugin&searchon=names&suite=gutsy&section=all (http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=vdr-plugin&searchon=names&suite=gutsy&section=all) or  it'll be better to build them from the sources?

You can install from the repo and see if they work,

else you'll have to build from source.

I couldn't install plug-in from the repo but I managed to build it from the sources.

 Same here,

The lmce version of vdr works with few plugins from the repo, the version i compille works with some few plugins but the some additionnal plugins i compille just wont work with any version (streamdev) still get the previour err msg.
