Title: Orbiter running on an Ipaq running linux!
Post by: archived on October 13, 2005, 02:10:29 pm
Hi,

I did have a ipaq 5450 that would've been great for running as an orbiter. The trouble is, about 3 days before discovering Plutohome, I installed linux on it, and don't have a backup of the windows OS.

Now, has anyone had an orbiter running on a linux ipaq? If not, can anyone think of any reasons why it shouldn't (once recompiled). Probably easiest to run it under GPE seeing as that is X based, or I might install a very base version of familiar, which is available for download, install X and have it running on its own.

If noone has done it before and its feasable, I'll have a go in a week or two once I've got my network sorted. If I get it working, I'll put the familiar (debian based) packages up for download.

Thanks,

Darren.

No one tried that. I guess it should work with a few tweaks if there are no endian problems and there is enough CPU power...
