Title: Disk Drive Location
Post by: archived on October 04, 2005, 11:15:33 am
Quick question:

If I want to play a cd over my pluto network, do I have to stick the cd in a cd drive in the core, or can i shove it in a cd drive in one of the media centres?

The same, I guess, goes for DVDs.

you can play discs only localy, you can't stream over the network.
what you can do is rip the disc, and then play it from a MD.

See the thread below for info on how to stream a DVD from one MD to another (Multicast or Unicast) using VLC

To do this currently you have to leave the Pluto UI but hopefully in the future that will change.

By the way this works for Audio CD's or DVD's in the local drive or for content already ripped to the Core.
