Title: ASUS M2NPV-VM Discontinued
Post by: afilep on October 05, 2007, 08:50:11 am

I knew that M2NPV-VM wasn't exactly a new board, but I was having a chat with a guy at my local shop (he sells lots of stuff and generally knows what he's talking about) and he mentioned that M2NPV-VM was discontinued. Basically it will be available while supplies last. I suppose the fact that Newegg is offering a special bundle deal on it is also telling (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131014 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131014)).

So I am seriously considering Abit AN-M2HD (http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AN-M2HD&fMTYPE=Socket+AM2 (http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AN-M2HD&fMTYPE=Socket+AM2)). I understand there still may be some issues with it (see http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=2036.0 (http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=2036.0)), but at least it's a newer chipset and the support for it will probably only get better over time.

Does anyone have a better idea for a mATX Core/Hybrid?

Thanks,
Alex
