Title: Light - on and off in UI2
Post by: marrandy on August 22, 2007, 12:00:49 am
Hello.

When I add devices  e.g. 4 x-10 lights in the master bedroom, there is only 1 on and 1 off button that activates all 4 in sequence.

How do you control individual lights ?

You have to create new Lighting scenarios.
Everything is explained here

Another method that lets you control lights individually throughout your house is to create a floorplan and place your lights on it.  Then you can click on each one to adjust it.

I don't want to create 4 scenarios for handling 4 individual lights.

The plan idea is OK.

I guess I expected that when I hover over a light button, a selection of waht is available would pop-up (like when their are submenus on the windows start menus of the kde ones.

It seems incredibly cludgy once you have selected a room, not to be able to control the lights or appliances individually from the UI.

Even without a floorplan (I haven't gotten around to that yet) you should just get a list of lights (when you hit the floorplan button) which you can then select and control individually.  At least that is my experience.
