Title: Sound Card - Auzentech Dolby Digital
Post by: ecmxunil on August 09, 2007, 09:15:32 pm
Hi all, completely new to this Linux arena but highly interested in the HTPC area.  Running Win XP with Meedio at present, but always looking to better it!  Found the Linux MCE and am extremely amazed by the functionality of it all, and could probably utilize alot of it - especially impressed by the control options and GUI.
Anyway - real reason for posting - I have my HTPC currently rigged via digital Co-axial to my A/V amp.  The sound card I am using is an Auzentech HDA Xplosion 7.1 with Dolby Digital Live upscaling and DTS Connect.  Works wonders and sounds excellent through the amp.
Reading up on drivers for this, Linux drivers are not supported by the Manufacturer (it has a C-Media CMI8770 chip embedded) however I understand Linux drivers are available for the the basic operation but it does not give the DD Live and DTS functionality.  Does anyone know if there are any drivers out there or any work arounds in order to get at least DD Live from the digital co-axial out to my amp??  I do not want to drop the card as even the missus is impressed by the sound quality!!
Many thanks all - and for the Linux MCE creators - keep up the excellent work!! :D
