Title: RC1 attempt1: Failed install
Post by: sandos on July 29, 2007, 07:31:40 am
I was drunken and tired yesterday evening when I tried installing RC1 and kubuntu live-CD caching was _incredibly_ slow. I should've used a iso instead...

Anyway, I had just installed Kubuntu 7.04, and had not done anything with it. No updates, no nothing.

I then proceed to install Linuxmce, and I went to bed during the Kubunutu Live CD caching. Woke up and it says "installation failed". Logfiles are available:

Oh, stupid me. I had the packages CD mounted on /mnt (I did this with beta 2 aswell!)

The installer should really check for this stupidity, like try creating /mnt/devices or whatever the required folder is before even trying to install!!

Worked fine the next time I installed.

Good idea, but I think breathalyzer devices aren't supported yet! ;D

(and I sure hope you can take a joke)
