Title: Automatic updating
Post by: archived on July 08, 2005, 01:30:37 pm
Hello,

How do you handle automatic updating of the core system, e.g a Debian Linux solution provided from you. Does it fetch updates automaticlly and patch itself?

Am I supposed to do patching/updates myself? (I got no problem with it, but e.g customers won't be able to handle it (nor should they)).

Is the Pluto system itself being updated, so I always have the latest (stable) version?

Best Regards

Yes, every night at 2am it checks for and starts downloading updates, which will be applied next time you reboot the core.  It doesn't yet notify you that it has pending updates to apply, but will start doing that soon.  then you'll get a messgae on your orbiteres with a 'reset system now' button.

Ok, sounds good.
Although you didn't answer if this applied to both Pluto and Debian updates.

yes, it applies to both.  you should never have to do anything manually.
