Title: xorg.conf is being overwritten with an empty version...
Post by: Belboz99 on June 14, 2007, 11:21:27 am
Hey all,

I had some stability issues today due to the heat here.    After one of the crashes (which IIRC was during a config) the GUI now fails to load.

It appears that the xorg.conf was overwritten with a basically empty version.   All attempts to correct this have failed as it is constantly being overwritten with the same basically empty copy.    I can hot-wire it to load a GUI by doing this command:

sudo rm xorg.conf && sudo cp xorg.conf.pluto.avwizard xorg.conf && xfwm4.

Also, it appears it's trying to restore an image with kinit off my 2nd swap partition, yet it fails everytime.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

Always had problems with my xorg.conf beeing "malformed". In 1.0 and 1.1 b2. so used "chattr +a" on it. :-) (Thanks to MasterC, for pointing out the chattr-command) ;-)

Is it possible to use this manner to provide lmce a fully functional manual created xorg.conf that is not replaced by lmce wizards (as AVWizard_Run.sh) ?
