Title: Installing Linux MCE on Asus Pundit P1-AH2
Post by: MrBrown on June 04, 2007, 09:48:53 pm
Hello,

I just had a try installing Linux MCE on Ubuntu.
My Hardwareconfig:

Asus Pundit P1-AH2 (using itegrated NVidia 6150)
Hauppauge WinTV Nova-S
512 MB DDR2

The Installation I started unfortunately completely failed.
1. Issue was that my TV-Card wasn't listed in the list of TV-Cards (is there a tutorial or howto for installing my tv card on ubuntu or should linux mce do this on its own?)
2. Issue was that TV-Out didn't seem to work. (is there a tutorial or howto for installing my graphics card on ubuntu or should linux mce do this on its own?)
3. Issue was the TV-Programm list since the TV-Today for germany didn't work.

Hope someone out there can help me with my problems since linux mce is now the third software i am trying.

1. i've searched on the Internet and i found this http://de.gentoo-wiki.com/Hauppauge_WinTV_Nova-S-Plus (http://de.gentoo-wiki.com/Hauppauge_WinTV_Nova-S-Plus). it's in german but i think it can offer some good references. you have to put those modules in /etc/modules to avoid reloading them at every restart.
2. in linuxmce, tv-out is made through component so, you have to have a tv component capable. but you can add some additional lines in xorg.conf like here http://debian.ablog.ro/2006-10-25/tv-out-pentru-placi-nvidia.html (http://debian.ablog.ro/2006-10-25/tv-out-pentru-placi-nvidia.html).
