Title: [Solved] Z-Wave - Devices losing rooms and floorplan objects
Post by: B34N on January 06, 2014, 02:19:49 am
I installed the January 5th snapshot of LMCE 12.04. After successfully getting MythTV working with my HDHomeRun Prime with Cable Card, I added all of my zwave devices (switches and outlets). I went through web admin and assigned them all to a room and floor plan object device. I then added the devices to the graphical floor plan using the floor plan wizard. Next I did a quick reload and regenerated all orbiters. The floor plan showed up on my MD very nicely. I noticed that I missed one device on the floor plan. I went back to the floor plan wizard and all of the devices were missing from the floor plan. I then went to devices/lights and all of the devices were missing the rooms and the floor plan objects that I assigned to them. Now after my next reload and regen, my floorplan is blank.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why LMCE is not retaining the rooms and objects after a regen?

No idea what is happening on your system, but a FYI: I am running 1204 latest and I've never experienced any such issues. Apart from my standard issue of forgetting to select the "Lighting Zone" instead of the "Security Zone".

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately it wasn't from being in Security Zone.

I went back and started assigning the devices to rooms and PK_FloorplanObjectType. I noticed that the Floorplan Info was still populated and if I assigned the device to a group that was also retained.

I have to head to work so I'll find out when I get home if the rooms and PK_FloorplanObjectType was retained. Fortunately since the Floorplan Info remained, I don't have to redo the floorplan. The devices just showed back when I assigned an PK_FloorplanObjectType to them.

Update: Everything seems to be holding after a few regens. I'll keep an eye out and report back it it happens again.

I marked as solved since it appears to be a one-time thing.
