Title: Anyone Testing the Game Player?
Post by: tschak909 on January 15, 2013, 05:40:15 am
Is anyone testing the Game Player in the recent builds? The entire engine has been refactored over the last 6 months, and lots of things have been improved. I need to know if all the features work.

I played a game or two of Ms Pac Man without anything obvious being bad.

One of them tried, without much success. It was too hard with the analog stick on the gamepad. She moved to the iPad for Sonic Racer ;)

Thom,

Where do you plug in the Cartridges?

Normally, you place game ROMs under the public (or user_) games folder, in the appropriate game system folder.

There _ARE_ physical cartridge and controller interfaces. The http://www.retrode.org/ (http://www.retrode.org/) is the best example of one. It provides a virtual disk that can be seen to have ROMs that can be read by the emulators. I do not have one yet, but as soon as I get one (and some carts), I will try to make fully integrated support for it.
