Title: Dianemo S: Tagging of MP3s and Double Tags
Post by: murcel on July 03, 2012, 09:40:08 pm
i realized that Dianemo is double tagging mp3s.
i am using an external windows software for tagging the files.
if i - e.g. add an correctly tagged album to dianemo it looks ok.
If i change something for example Album to something else externally, than dianemo resyncs it, but adds the new album as a second album tag in each file. So the album tag is existing 2 times. and the album is existing two times.
Same is for all other tags.

Hi Murcel,

Can you give me more detail on what tag your adding and where your adding it etc. Also send me privately an example of a track that you have tagged in this way please.

All the best

I am wondering if this is the same issue I am having.

Is it that the old tag is still there?

I think this is because the tag is still in the database.

I have retagged all my mp3's then recopied them back to my Dianemo server.

I appear to still have tags of files which are still there but showing there old album names.

Whats the easiest way to clear the media database and get it to scan afresh?

Regards

Yes seems to be the same.
Normally linuxmce should look at the timestamp of the mp3. If that was changed after the database entrie, than it should remove/replace the database entry. But it is not doing so.

Well the easiest way surely is just to work out how to clear the database and let it pick everything up again?

For the moment its just a workaround. But a real solution would be much more better.

Hi Murcel

Did you run this?

I am wondering if that is safe to run on Dianemo or of it will cause problems. Not sure if there are changes to this Dianemo which would cause this to be a problem.

Is there any progress or workaround for this issue?
