Hi folks,
to make our lives easier we're now authenticating the wiki users against the forum user database. That means that you need a forum account to be able to edit wiki pages. User creation in the wiki is disabled.
You can log into the wiki with your forum username and password.
If you have any issues or questions, feel free to ask.
best regards,
LMCE Team

Thank You!
Those spam bots were just a little annoying.
-
Daveygravey's right, the spamming was becoming an epidemic. This should take care of that,... hopefully.

If the user id does not yet exist, it should be added to the system.
-
I still can't login to the wiki when I try to use my forum login/password?
Login error

I use FF 13.0.1 on my LMCE 10.04 - do I need something special to be able to login? java? I still don't get it

just created a test user on the forums, and did successfully log onto the wiki with that account...
-
Hmm I don't get it, I just tried again to login to the wiki...
I use this web page to loging:
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&returnto=Main_Page (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&returnto=Main_Page)
and get this error:
Login error
There is no user by the name "bri_jac". Check your spelling.
And the webpage changes to this
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&action=submitlogin&type=login&returnto=Main_Page (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&action=submitlogin&type=login&returnto=Main_Page)
thank you for trying, did you create the testuser similar to my name? bri_jac

MediaWiki translates underscores to spaces.. I did workaround this, please test.
-
I was able to log in,... so that part worked,... But, my account is showing as being blocked from wiki editing,... Could this be related to my IP address (I use a MiFi device, while out, as well as my home cable modem, &was using that at the time)?
I wanted to try adding an "exemplary setup" user page...
-
Good lookin' out Hari.

This user is currently blocked. The latest block log entry is provided below for reference:
08:09, 24 March 2012 Bongowongo (Talk | contribs) blocked "JaseP (Talk | contribs)" with an expiry time of infinite
-
I still can't log in, may that be related to the 2 underscores?
-
probably the leading underscore, it will be translated to a leading space. While I did not check it I'd assume that the wiki does not like that

Yeah,... What's up with that? I never posted anything on the wiki,... So why would I be blocked?
