Title: How to install just a dedicated core system?
Post by: gsm113 on October 08, 2011, 10:18:37 pm
I just finished installing Linuxmce and it appears that I inadvertently installed a hybrid when I only meant to install a Core.
I followed the tutorial in the wiki setup section. wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installation_Guide
but nowhere during the installation process was I asked if I wanted to install a dedicated core or hybrid.

There is no such questions. It defaults to install a hybrid.

You could simply delete or disable the media director devices in the web admin post-install.

If you want to re-install, you could change a config file before installing. I don't recall the exact details, but there is a config setiing in the mce_wizard_data-double_nic.sh file that can be changed.

Thanks.  I was confused because all the literature I found on the wiki said you can install either dedicated core, hybrid, or MD.  And most people seemed to recommend a dedicated core setup if possible.
