Title: Send Hauppauge Audio To Different Rooms
Post by: Tred on August 15, 2011, 08:05:20 am
I'd like to send a standard RCA audio signal to different rooms using my Hauppauge capture card. Right now I'm using a "Generic Video Console" device template and setting it as being from the composite port on the card. This works, however, it forwards the video as well as the audio: which seems like a waste to not only take up network bandwidth but also the resources to encode the analogue video. Also, with this setup, I can only access my device from the room that I have it set in.

Does anyone have a setup like this? Really all I want to do is forward just the audio from an old vinyl player I have to my MDs if that makes it any clearer.

Make a device template that uses one of the audio media types, and use that.
