Title: Multi Output STB
Post by: b4rney on May 12, 2011, 01:39:27 am
I have an openbox s9 HD satellite receiver with both component/audio and hdmi outputs.

Is it possible to distribute these outputs to two of my lmce mds and have it controlled as av equipment within lmce using orbiters and ir?

Basically, I want to use the hdmi output to my 37 inch LG and Denon Amp (core) and the component/audio output to one of my acer revo powered mds (with LG TV)

I know I could use say a HD PVR to capture the component signal into the system, but ... can I simply have lmce switch inputs on my TV and amp and issue ir commands from two mds instead?

I have created the device and captured the ir commands into lmce via usb-uirt.
However, there is only one option for video/audio pipes per av device.

Any ideas?

in short, no, because you can't say that two md's won't be using it at the same time. No. You can't. Stop it. Stop thinking that. Really, no, stop thinking that... No.. *hmm* ok, go ahead and try, watch what happens :)

If you have two USB UIRTs you can setup two AV devices pointing to the same settop box. However, keep in mind, that the first MD will send a power-off signal to the settop box when not in use for 15 minutes.

Thanks guys. I'll attach it to the core TV component in and maybe use it manually on the md TV using hdmi.

I can see the conflicts you both pointed out.
