The main question is....
Can one use the clone the the video out put from the core say to touch screens in a home
( one main level and one upper level ) and use it in a general home zone
for controling home lighting regular home audio ect as well as if needed control the md's
in other rooms?
the thing is it may have multiple 2 to 3 touch screens

If I understand you correctly, you want to control LMCE from some touch screens around your home. The best way to do this is to run a Orbiter on the touch screens, assuming these are tablets. This can be done with either a native orbiter application, or by using the touch orbiter (either as a native app or the web orbiter).
Any orbiter can control every other MD and basically everything LMCE controls.
Not sure how you would pull this of by cloning the video output. You'd also need to connect multiple input devices to the core to receive input somehow...

lets say
(2) x vga lcd wall mounted pulling video threw a 1x2 vga splitter "possibly vga via cat5/6"
Then usb via cat5/6 for the touch screen interface/inputs since i know i can have more than
one human interface device.
Knowing that what ever was shown on one screen whould also be on the other would not be
a issue. These would be for main control area's/whole house + ability from core to control all..
And positioned like alarm keypads would per house level..

I was looking also at mini2440 as a simular but I do not know if it is working as of yet.
it would be easier.
As far as the webdt they look like they work nice but afraid of availabilty later down
the road. And the mobile orbitors like possibly PDA's is another solution -but- as i found
with the axim 50v work sweet and also mines itself into couches and chairs well too lol
If any tried something simular throw me youre ideas.
FYI
If we end up buying and renovating this house in march its going to be 90% lmce systems.
as well as if it goes well ill have to do a demo video ect :)

The mini-2440 is a possibility - see here for a Touch Orbiter implementation; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mini2440_Touch_Orbiter (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mini2440_Touch_Orbiter). Another route would be an Android based Touch Orbiter; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/AndroidTouchOrbiter (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/AndroidTouchOrbiter)
If you want the lowest effort route to a Touch Based Orbiter then go with iPad's (more costly obviously) and just download the free LinuxMCE or Dianemo Touch Orbiters (the App works fine on iPod, iPhone & iPad) from the iTunes store and your done.
All the best

I think I might try out the mini2440 aproach. With those I can use 7+ inch screens and or custom build mounts housings
for wall tabletops or embeded into furniture or other objects.

Why not get $89 Android tablets and use those?

Well thats a good point. The main reason we don't like those is performance and the lower quality touch screens they have. But if your on a tight budget then they are definitely an option.

I use an android pad as an orbiter as well as a pda. The android pad is described on the wiki under zenithink zt-180. It was a bit more expensive than the 7 in versions but has a 10 in screen
