Title: Newbie Installation problems
Post by: maxinva on January 28, 2011, 03:15:18 am
I have successfully installled 8.10 but I'm having one problem.  I have installed a core/hybrid server with a internal and external network.  I have a QNAP NAS connected on the internal network with three windows shares music, pictures and videos.  The core server has recognized  all most of the videos (mts videos are missing but I think I have found the solution to this), all of my music but none of my pictures.  The three share drives were added with exactly the same settings and they look exactly the same in web admin.  I'm not sure if it is something with the configuration of the device, the file structure of the pictures, the type of files (jpg) or something else.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is it that the share "pictures" is missing, or that it did not find any pictures?

I think it is because the updatemedia job has not found any pictures.  Here is the reason I believe this to be true.

Some of the videos that were taken with my camera are stored in the windows share called pictures.  These videos have been found and appear in the linuxMCE video menu since they are mov files.  I'm assuming this means that the windows share Pictures has been found and catalogued.  For some reason, the jpeg files are not appearing under the LinuxMCE picture menu.

Is there any way to know what was added from the pictures windows share into the database?  This would tell me if it was a problem with updatemedia not cataloguing the pictures or the pictures not appearing in the LinuxMCE menu.

Thanks for any assistance.

Another bit of information.  I installed phpMyadmin and looked at the tables in pluto_media.  Although I don't know much about the data structure I was able to determine that jpg files from the windows Picture share are appearing in the File table but not in the Picture table. The only items in the picture table are those from base flickr install and some cover art.

Once again thanks for any help.
