Title: X10 devices from US different to European?

Hi guys,

I want to get a 16CUX10 which is a X10 controller for 16 relays, but I can't get them in Europe. Is there any difference between US and European X10 standard so that I can import one from US?
Would that device be supported in LinuxMCE at all?

they differ in voltage (110V vs 220-240V) and frequency (60Hz vs 50Hz). The former would be easier to adjus than the latter. In the past, when "Europe X10" was insanely expensive, some people did resolder some units. You might want to test your google foo on that. But be aware that this is not simple and might burn your kitchen sink.

For 16 220V relais outputs, I would probably get KNX/EIB or do some arduino based DIY thing..
We also support the AET EMC2000 (http://www.austroinfo.at/aet/Default.asp?ProduktID=1) btw, but I'm not sure if getting one of those units is feasible..

thanks hari, in this case I won't get the 16CUX10.
The arduino thing looks very promising, I will have a closer look on that - maybe I can make it working with X10.
Also the AET is interesting but you can't find a lot info on their website...
