Title: TT-Budget/WinTV-NOVA-CI PCI DVB-S card doesn't work with the latest v4l2-modules
Post by: nite_man on June 18, 2010, 01:01:07 pm
Hi,

After the latest upgrade of v4l2-modules I have two problems. First of all I cannot boot my core. Only after disconnection of USB HDD, webcam and CM11A interface it boot successfully. The second problem is the DVB-S card TT-Budget/WinTV-NOVA-CI PCI doesn't work anymore (it worked before without any problems and works fine under 0710). VDR gives the frontend error continiously. I replace it by  Technisat SkyStar2 DVB card (rev 02) and it works fine.

Here is an info about v4l2 packages on the core:
Code: [Select]
ii  v4l2-firmware                            lmce20100610-0ubuntu1~ppa1i              Firmware for Video for Linux supported devices
ii  v4l2-modules                             lmce20100610-0ubuntu1~ppa1i              Video for Linux driver source code
un  v4l2-modules-2.6.22-14-generic           <none>                                   (no description available)
un  v4l2-modules-304cfde05b3f                <none>                                   (no description available)
un  v4l2-modules-cc01851735c3                <none>                                   (no description available)

Any idea why the latest v4l2 causes such problems?

Thanks in advance.

The problem is you have the wrong drivers install  :P

remove the v4l2-modules and install v4l2-ngene-modules

currently the version of myth that i have out now doesnt have good DVBS/S-2 support.

im looking for a few people with S/S-2 cards to test some new drivers, i will be releasing with an update to myth
hit me up in irc and lets test some stuff

Thanks

Mandingo

Could you explain me briefly, please, the difference between those two modules?
