Title: Myth tv: cannot connect to master backend
Post by: archived on November 05, 2006, 05:07:59 pm
Hi all

since .40 I'm facing this issue with MythTv, that is still present even after a fresh install of .41.

Basically every time that MythTv player I get the above mentioned error (cannot connect to master backend) but IP address and port seems OK.

In .39 things were working fine, upgrade to .40 messed the things up and I was confident that a fresh .41 install could fix the situation.

Has anyone some ideas on this?

Thanks and regards
Marco

please enable remote assistance, provide installation id/number and password and will try to take a look, see what went wrong.

Hi all

I waited for .42 to see whether things could get fixed, and actually something  happened even if things are still not working fine.

Let me explain the actual situation.

After .42 update I totally removed previous mythconverg database and started with a fresh one.
I made the configuration of TV board (PVR350), source and channels and everything seemed to work except for the fact that MythTv client runs for some 30 seconds and then it stops, falling back to orbiter.

During those 30 sec I'm able to watch tv normally and also change TV channel (did not manage yet to watch my previous recordings, but this is another story), so hardware, ivtv modules and MythTv itself are ok.

By looking at the MythTvPlayer log I see the following lines
Code: [Select]

Last 8 lines are continously repeated, they say that Pluto (or maybe Pluto MythTvPlayer wrapper..) cannot connect to MythTv client but MythTv is actually running, and my keyboard can actually control MythTv.

Then after 30-35 sec MythTv client closes and MD falls back to Orbiter screen.

What can it be?

In case of remote assistance, to whom am I supposed to send my installation data?

TIA
Marco
