This alarm panel is already in that list of compatible devices:
GE Interlogix/Caddx NetworX NX-4, NX-6, NX-8, NX-8E
A description of the alarm panel can be found here:http://www.homesecuritystore.com/detail_pages/nx8e.htm
Misterhouse has Caddx code in Perl here:http://w3.misterhouse.net:81/mh/code/public/
Other than that, I don't know what kind of specs you would need that are available to me?
Since it is already listed as compatible, I'm assuming that whatever drivers/wrappers/code that needs to be written for this has been done already. Can you verify this? Can you explain what the configuration settings are supposed to be?
I have followed the instructions listed at here http://plutohome.elwiki.com/index.php/Caddx_NX-8E
Right now, I have it as:
NX8E ---serial---gc100---CAT5E---ethernet switch---plutocore
(Serial cable runs like this: NX8E cable's male]: [female|female adapter] :[gc100's male] Pins 2 and 3 have been reversed. This gets a hex output when telneting to port 4999 of the gc100. The output keeps repeating without changes even when commands are sent via keypad or orbiters. Commanding "getdevices" from the GC100 gives back an empty list with endlistdevicesIAL. Should I expect it to give back at least "Module 1" for the serial port?
GC100 controlled by CORE
Generic Relays controlled by GC100
GE Interlogix controlled by Generic Relays
The Generic Relays option appeared after I set up the gc100. Am I assuming correctly that I need to use the GE Interlogix device to control the NX-8E instead of Generic Security Panel? Is it also correct to have this controlled by Generic Relays (the other options are "CORE" and "Generic PC as MD"). Generic Relays only has gc100 as the "controlled by" option. The GC100 has "CORE", "Generic Relays", and "Generic PC as MD" as "controlled by" options.
All sensors controlled by GE Interlogix. Have input the zone numbers in the "Port/Channel Number" parameter.
Not sure if I understand the point of this. Is this equal to the alarm panel's zones, e.g. 1-8 in an 8 zone panel? If so, where do we input the zone number? Is it in the Zone Name or is that something else? Or is this just a way of grouping together sensors?
