HD tv with internal decoder?
« on: December 07, 2008, 03:20:53 pm »
Hi,

I want to create a mediacenter with LinuxMCE and the Shuttle D10.

Does LinuxMCE play well with the D10? How can I make use of the touchscreen?

I've got Digital TV via the cable at Ziggo in the NEtherlands. It uses a smartcard. Is there any card out there that I can use to get the digital TV straight into LinuxMCE?

Your answers would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,
Ger.

Hi vorik,

Basically any DVB card supported by linux will work with LMCE, although not necessarily plug-and-play. For smartcard/encrypted channels, you should get a card that supports a CAM/CI for you cable provider.

I suggest checking out the lmce wiki, search this forum for post regarding DVB and cable. The linuxtv.org website is also worth a visit.
