Help with compiling Xine
« on: May 12, 2006, 12:23:50 am »
Has anyone successfully managed to compile xine-lib and xine-ui within a pluto environment ?

I am trying to upgrade VDR to overcome a number of known bugs and want to retain the Xine plugin but I am seeing numerous problems when running autogen.sh to build Xine.

If anyone has experience of compiling Xine-lib under the pluto environment i would be greatful of some pointers intermsof what I need to do.

I have updated the listed dependancies such as automake etc but can not get autogen to build a makefile

if someone is willing to help i can provide logs of the errors etc

Many Thanks

NOS.

NOS,

To build xine-lib, you should fetch it from the SVN repository, then go into xine-lib directory and run:
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -b

This will build the xine-lib packages (bin, debug, dev) and will put them into parent folder.

Note that if some required packages are missing, it will give you an error and stop. You can install required packages and retry.

The xine-ui package doesn't contain Pluto-specific modifications - you can use package from Debian/sarge
